Samuel Cumming & Son is one of the oldest and largest firms of Solicitors in Ballymena, originally founded by Samuel Cumming in 1932, at that time catering mostly to the legal needs of the local farming community. Forty years later in 1972, the firm by then headed by Samuel’s son Billy Cumming, acquired the long standing Ballymena practice of J K Currie and moved to its present offices at 39 Linenhall Street.
The firm has three partners who between them have many years experience in a number of areas of law.
The firm now provides legal services, advice and assistance in a broad range of areas to clients from all backgrounds – private and commercial, young and old. While the firm maintains a strong link with its traditional client base within the farming community, and specialises in property matters, wills, administration of estates and estate planning, it also provides an effective general advice service to clients in may fields as well as a litigation service to clients in the field of personal injury, debt recovery, contractual or other disputes.
The partners are happy to act for both private and commercial clients.
The firm acquired the practices of Ian Kerr LLB and John P. McCann & Sons in 2005 and 2006 and has grown rapidly in recent years in response to the requirements of its clients and the growth in the economy of Ballymena and Northern Ireland. Now headed by Nicholas Cumming, grandson of Samuel Cumming, the various Solicitors and departments within the firm offer a broad range of general and specialist advice and services to clients.
